Who controls your data

Genspect, The Steps, O'Connell Street, Birr, County Offaly, is an Irish organisation and the data controller for this site. The supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2. Contact us at [email protected].

The contact form

We receive the name, email address, optional subject line and message you send. They are used to answer you and nothing else. They sit on our hosting platform and in the Genspect mailbox, and are deleted within twelve months of the last message in the exchange.

Server logs

Ordinary web-server logs record IP addresses and requests for a short period, for security and fault-finding. They are not used to profile visitors and are not combined with form data.

Embedded video

Episode pages embed the YouTube player. Playing a video sends your IP address to Google, which may set its own cookies. Each episode page also links straight to youtube.com if you prefer.

What we never do

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no mailing list, no sharing or selling of data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing. Write to [email protected]; we reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission.
